The journal "Legal Bulletin of the Kuban State University" was founded in 2009 and is published quarterly.

The first editor-in-chief of the journal was Doctor of Law, Professor V.I. Brylev. He was replaced by Doctor of Law, Associate Professor S.A. Zhinkin. In 2017, Doctor of Law, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Law of KubSU - S.V. Potapenko.

The composition of the editorial board of the journal has undergone changes over the past decade and now includes not only the faculty of the Faculty of Law. A.A. Khmyrov KubSU, but also representatives of scientific schools from other leading higher educational institutions of Russia and foreign lawyers.

The geography of the authors of the journal is also extensive. In addition to recognized and young scientists of the Faculty of Law. A.A. Khmyrov KubSU, leading scientists from other regions of Russia and foreign countries publish their articles in the journal.

"Legal Bulletin of the Kuban State University" is included in the database of the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI).

Since 2012, the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Communications, Information Technology and Mass Media has included the publication in the list of names of registered mass media.

At the end of 2019, the journal received the right to enter the List of Russian peer-reviewed scientific journals, in which the main scientific results of dissertations for the degree of Doctor and Candidate of Sciences should be published.

"Legal Bulletin of the Kuban State University" is distributed in printed form by subscription. Since 2020, the journal has an independent website, which has an archive and current issues with all published articles in the public domain.
